A tanning bed gallery, also known as a tanning salon, is a facility that offers tanning services to the public for a fee. This type of salon may offer tanning beds, booths and even spray tans. If you love the healthy, glowing look of a tan but don't want to subject your skin to UV rays then you will love the spray tan option available at most salons these days. If you prefer traditional tanning, there are two main choices available to you, booths or beds.

A tanning booth is like a stall in which you stand. You get tan from every direction and don't have to worry about uneven spots. This is a fantastic option for anyone who wants the most even tan and doesn't mind standing during the tanning session. A tanning bed is an apparatus in which you lie on your back and pull the top cover down close to your body. There are bulbs on the top and bottom which tan your front and back at the same time. Whether you go for the bed or the booth, it is imperative that you use eye protection such as tanning goggles or glasses.

Another thing to consider when visiting the tanning salon is the product you will use to enhance your tan. Some people choose to wear sunscreen products when tanning while others go for tan enhancers and accelerators. Every tanning salon will have a variety of bronzers, lotions, gels, oils and other products designed to help protect and nourish your skin while making your tan the best it can be. Many of these products contain shimmering particles or bronze color to make your skin look even more gorgeous after you're finished tanning.

The prices charged at a tanning bed gallery depend on various factors such as geographic location and services being provided. Many salons offer unlimited tanning for one monthly or yearly price. If you tan frequently then this is probably the way to go. If you're new to tanning and aren't sure how often you will be doing it you can choose to pay per session. On average a session of spray tanning will cost more than a session in a bed or booth, however spray tanning lasts for at least a week before it needs touching up. Check your local Yellow Pages to find out which tanning salons are open in your area.
